Caller ID says 800 Service. Caller asked me for the last for of my social security number which I don't give to anyone calling me that I don't know. This is obviously a phishing scammer who is posing as Bank of America.
We just received a call from this number and they said our mortgage (BOA) was not up to date and asked for a payment.
We told them that was weird and they said "let me look at my files" we hear PAPER files... Who uses those?!?
They kept asking for a credit card or bank account info.
We told them we were not going to release any info since they are supposed to have our payment info on file.
They are very persistent. Be careful!
This number is Bank of America's Mortgage Collection Department.
